Leading City of Industry, California Asian Food Importer and Distributor is seeking a sales representative who has experience in the import/ food distribution industry and who is bilingual in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese).

Gemini Food Corporation is a very well-established Asian food import and distribution company located in City of Industry, California. Together with our sister company, Tong Enterprises Inc., located in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have a sales area that covers the USA. We are a leading company in the Asian food import industry with healthy sales and strong management. We are looking for a sales representative with some (ideally 2-4 years) experience in the import and distribution business and the ability to fluently speak English and Chinese, whether Mandarin or Cantonese Chinese.

Gemini Food services mainstream accounts such as Costco, Safeway, and Kroger. Our customer base also includes major Asian supermarket chains across the U.S. like H-Mart, Great Wall Supermarkets, and Good Fortune Markets. Therefore, the ability to fluently speak both English and Chinese is essential for this position.

The position is responsible for managing marketing programs for core lines and managing sales team. The candidate must have very good interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communications abilities to succeed at this position. The candidate must be able to work independently and take initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Job description includes (but not limited to):

  • Visit customers regularly according to the travel schedule approved by Sales Management
  • Customer relationship management: Return customers calls or email inquiries promptly
  • Assist with payment collection by visit customers or phone calls
  • Introduce new products to customers in a timely basis: including exclusive products and those currently emphasized by Sales Management. Follow Sales Management sales strategy and direction
  • Put in efforts to study company products and understand market demand
  • Conduct research and observe the market for an attempt to understand products from different countries or different demographic groups
  • Attend sales meetings, product training sessions and interact with others in the sales team and Sales Management to obtain new product knowledge
  • Coordinate with the marketing specialist: Set up and run food demos at the request of the company and participate in marketing event/ program
  • Keep in close touch with the Company every working day by phone or email
  • Upon completion of training, comfortable in the ability to use device to solicit sales orders

Qualifications:

  • At least 2-4 years’ experience in travelled, field sales is required
  • AA or BA degree is preferred, high school degree is required
  • An ability to speak Chinese as well as English fluently is required
  • Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills along with problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Team, Excel and Word
  • The successful candidate should be resourceful, independent, flexible, and have a warm, approachable manner

Salary

Compensation: Depending on experience
